“Resilience does not come from rare, special qualities but from the everyday magic of ordinary, normative human resources”. A panel of speakers, including Dr. Barbara Virley, a clinical psychologist by training, Bev Wilcox, a public health nurse from Ottawa Public Health’s School Health Program, will discuss resilience as a skill that can be acquired, the individual and environmental factors in building teen and family resilience, proactive parenting, and resources available in our community. Audience members are encouraged to send their questions to the panel via e-mail to secretary@lisgar.net by October 4th, or bring your questions along for the Q&A period of the session. Join us and prepare your teens for the increasingly challenging world!
