Transitioning back to school is a challenge for all students and can be particularly challenging for children with learning disabilities. This webinar will cover important topics related to supporting children with LDs and their transition back to school. The webinar will deal with two broad categories of transition. First, the webinar will deal with supporting children with LDs transition back to school after the summer months. Go to http://goo.gl/lUycLa to sign up today!
Important considerations here include the potential summer learning loss that often affects children with LDs, adopting new learning strategies, keeping ahead of the curve with reading, and working with new teachers and new expectations. The second part of the webinar will deal with supporting children with LDs as they transition from elementary or middle school into secondary school. Topics here will include supporting children to develop self-advocacy skills, working within a rotary system, dealing with increased risk-taking, managing new peer groups, keeping a healthy self-esteem, becoming an effective self-regulated learner, and looking beyond high school.
