Communicative Disabilities and Abuse:
Understanding, Empowerment and Action

Friday, May 4, 2012 – 8:30 am – 12:00 noon

This workshop will explore the issues facing people with communicative disabilities such as hearing impairment, aphasia or learning disabilities with regards to abuse.  We will discuss the particular vulnerabilities and strengths in the communities as well as the difficulties inherent in reporting abuse and look towards finding solutions and prevention.

Who should attend:  Service providers, people with disabilities and family members.

Alexandra Carling-Rowland:  Director of Professional Practice &Quality Assurance at the College                  of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists (CASLPO)
