Martyn Reid the OCASC PIC (Parent Involvement Committee) Rep and Chair of the Ottawa Carlton District School Board (OCDSB) Parental Involvement Committee (PIC). is looking for feedback to bring to an ONTARIO wide meeting of PIC members
Next week he will be attending a virtual meeting of fellow PIC members across Ontario, along with school board leads and people from the Ministry of Education.
Part of the meeting will feature three Youth Advisors of the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development who will tell us about their work on apprenticeship, and to ask for advice on how to convey information to more parents. The Youth Advisors have engaged with educators, students, apprentices, journeypersons and employers and at our
February session they would like to hear about the parent perspectives of how young people and their families can be better informed about the options to pursue a career in the skilled trades.
An online survey to gather a broad range of perspectives and ideas is available until February 26, 2021 in both English and French and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
