Parents/guardians are key partners in children’s success at school, alongside teachers and school administrators. This year, OCASC, with the support of OCISO (the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization) applied for a Parents Reaching Out Grant. Our goals are to foster a better understanding among parents/guardians, teachers, and school administrators of key issues and to break down barriers to parent involvement by sharing experiences, discussing obstacles, and seeking solutions. We will offer workshops for school councils, teachers, and school administrators and create an online resource.
